Target Taining
In 2025,"Target Training" on a positive reinforcement base, is the most common way to work with elephants. Protected contact enables one to check and work with the elephants in a safe way, on a voluntary basis.
I can help with all aspects of this invaluable tool: from set-up to finetuning on a highly advanced level.

Footcare
Footcare management is one of the most important things in an elephants welfare. No feet no elephant.
I have extensive experience with treating elephant-feet, hoofstock and horserelated animals, as well as with educating staff in this crucial element of animal care.
Enclosure
Good enclosure management is also very important for elephants' welfare. More activity is easily created with the use of natural materials. Enclosure-enrichment activates the brain and body which allows the elephants to show more natural behaviours.
Presentation and education
As a senior keeper I have provided many talks in front of (VIP-)guests in small and big groups, as well as in front of the camera for various tv- and newsshows. I believe educating people about all aspects of keeping animals is very important for our future and the future of the elephants.
